When it comes to your compliance goals, you’re more likely to accomplish more with champions on your side and there no better way to do this than leaning on relationships and the trust you build from them. This is why, you should make it a point to create a list of key influencers in your organization and plan to create a relationship with them. Drop by to talk and align goals for the quarter or year, and continue to touch base be it over coffees or lunch.
Set Professional Growth Goals
It’s easy to get caught up in the groove of things. Homeostasis is perhaps our greatest enemy. Make it a point to set goals for growth, be it attending conferences or getting certified. This is a surefire way to not only grow professionally but also your network of peers, where you can bounce ideas off of and speak in depth about roadblocks.
These may seem like no-brainers but they’re all steps towards becoming a better professional and as a result a better compliance officer. From setting goals to bouncing ideas off peers, it’s a great way to get things done. At the end of the day, if we’re not getting things done, what do we have to show
